Thank you for visiting my website. Here you will find information about the various services I offer and how they can be helpful to you.
A bit about me: I practiced law for 14 years before returning to graduate school for a Masters of Social Work degree. I have been in the private practice of psychotherapy, divorce mediation, divorce coaching, custody evaluations, parental alienation and parenting coordination since 1994.
In addition to offering effective psychotherapy, I bring a wealth of experience in the fields of law and mental health to consulting with parents, kids and families to meet the challenges of divorce and co-parenting. My foremost commitment is to help moms and dads be the best parents they can be, and to promote the best interests of the children.
I've mediated disputes over the usual issues of parenting time, child support, spousal support and property division, and also more unusual disputes around grandparenting time, pet custody, managing religious differences, same-sex relationships, parental re-location out of state or country, taking children hunting, flying, hot air ballooning, shooting, stepfamily issues, and family inheritance issues, to name a few.
I'm a frequent presenter both in my community and at national conferences, and have been published in various state and national journals, on the topics of negotiation, mediation and mental health issues in the resolution of disputes. I am the Past-President of the Collaborative Practice Institute of Michigan and a former board member of the statewide mediators' organization.
I am a mother and grandmother, I've always worked outside the home, and I know well the joys and stresses of parenting in today's world.
