Choosing a Therapist

What is psychotherapy?

Simple -- one human being trying to help another human being.

Maybe you are feeling worried a lot of the time, or sad. Perhaps you have been feeling for a while that your life is not what you hoped it would be. Maybe you have suffered a loss, or are contemplating making a change that will affect not only you, but others you care about. Having someone to talk to can relieve pain and guilt, promote hope, and provide skills and a plan for creating the life you want to be living.

After all the training I've had, and the many clients I've worked with over the years, I am convinced that there is one factor that determines more than any other whether therapy helps someone -- and that is the quality of the relationship between the therapist and the client. Appropriate boundaries, genuine caring, intelligence, a sense of humor, and support for your own wisdom about what you need -- that is what I offer. Together, we take the journey that is psychotherapy, to a place of new inner peace, certainty about your value and worth, and full engagement with life that is your birthright.
